About The Artist

Lori Platt graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2000 with an Associate in Science degree in Graphic Design.  At the time, she had aspirations of being an illustrator where she would write and illustrate the books that fueled the imaginations of children around the world.  However, as the story is often told, life happened along the way and she fell off track from her childhood dream.

It was not until 2008 when she received a gift of polymer clay and sculpting tools that she had finally found her creative voice that propelled her completely into the world of doll artistry.  From that moment forward, Lori has been a figurative sculpture artist creating three-dimensional, mixed-media art pieces in polymer and paper clay as the primary medium.

After years of sculpting, it would eventually become apparent that the art of illustration and story-telling would come to life in her own sculptures and vignettes with their unique style, whimsy and attention to detail that only she at The Pixie Knoll can create.

Today, her figures are in galleries and private collections all around the world, where collector's delight in her sculptural fantasy figures that tell stories as if the pages of a children’s illustration has come to life right before their very eyes.
